Don't Neglect Your Spirit
l've often wondered what I would look like if I didn't exercise on a daily basis. How would I feel if I didn't take the time to take my "One A Day". What would it be like to live life day in and day out without a purpose; a plan for my future.
"We concern OURSELVES daily for the body; nourishing it with food and water, cleansing it, grooming it and dressing it in a way that represents what we want to portray. Communicating with it for what we perceive to be our pleasure and comfort. Living spiritually for me personally, is to do these same things for OUR SPIRITS first, making the body secondary."

Living Spiritually
is Organizing Yourselves in a way that you are aware of who you are and what will bring you the greatest real and lasting happiness. As women we have great significance.
As homemakers we have been given the special calling to be the homebuilders of our families. As moms we strive to be everything for everybody. Those around us depend on us to cook, clean, tend, pick up, drop off and everything else in between. Being moms requires leading and guiding our families in ways that can best be done by utilizing the greatest help we can receive, that being through the inspiration of our Father in Heaven. Without Him it can not be done- not great anyway. If I'm not at my best spiritually, my whole family suffers. If I don't take time daily to nourish my spirit, then I am susceptible to whatever comes my way. I can not allow myself to be the weakest link.
It's sad and amazing all at the same time that one person (moms) have the power to build or tear down our homes. I know that as we seek our Lord and Savior daily in helping us to rear our children, elevate our thoughts and our feelings and nourish & support our husbands; He will bless us in this sacred ROLE that he has entrusted to us, and He will bless the lives of our families more than we could ever do alone.
“Organize yourselves; prepare every needful thing; and establish a house, even a house of prayer, a house of fasting, a house of faith, a house of learning, a house of glory, a house of order, a house of God” That your incomings may be in the name of the Lord; that your outgoings may be in the name of the Lord; that all your salutations may be in the name of the Lord, with uplifted hands unto the Most High."
D&C 113. Living Spiritually Is more about making the most of each day through nourishing our spirits through reading, communicating positive thoughts, and doing the things that will uplift and edify ourselves and those around us.

"I got up early one morning,
And rushed right into the day;
I had so much to accomplish,
I didn’t have time to pray.
Troubles just tumbled about me,
And heavier came each task.
"Why doesn’t God help me?" I wondered.
He answered, "You didn’t ask."
I tried to come into God’s presence;
I used all my keys at the lock.
God gently and lovingly chided,
"Why, child, you didn’t knock."
I wanted to see joy and beauty,
But the day toiled on gray and bleak.
I wondered why God didn’t show me.
He said, "You didn’t seek."
I woke up early this morning,
And paused before entering the day.
I had so much to accomplish
That I had to take time to pray."
So take that time for yourselves that you need. We cannot accomplish much of anything when we neglect our spirits. Your spirit is the most important part of who you are & who you will ever become.
